This is a very welcome event for me as someone who has studied the Bodhisatvacaryavatara and tried to follow the author’s admonition to read this text also. I have struggled with the Bendal and Rouse translation , finding the words like a veil which but seldom parts. Thank you !

I think the Buddhist scholars and lineage of scholars, bodhisattvas and Buddhas in Tibet and the east have always given Master Shantideva credit for his thought. So even if one is only looking from a Western perspective it is and has been very possible that the sophistication and brilliance of his thought shines through. It is good that you are making this more apparent in English translations. I look forward to your book.
